Einladung zur Ausstellung „Medizinische Zeitreise“

Viele der historischen Geräte zeigen eine beeindruckende Konzentration auf das Wesentliche: einfache Reparierbarkeit, robuste Konstruktion, lokal verfügbare Materialien und eine klare Benutzerführung. Diese Prinzipien entsprechen genau jenen frugalen Innovationsansätzen, die das Forschungs- und Transferprojekt transSUSTAIN als Schlüssel für eine ressourcenschonende und zukunftsfähige Gesundheitsversorgung identifiziert – besonders für ländliche Räume und Regionen im demografischen Wandel.
Die Ausstellung versteht sich als Reflexionsraum und lädt dazu ein, eine zentrale Frage zu stellen: Welche Impulse ergeben sich aus dieser Entwicklungslinie: Von der DDR-Medizintechnik über das 3ios-Projekt bis hin zu den Forschungsaufgaben und -ergebnissen des Forschungscampus STIMULATE – für zukünftige frugale MedTech-Innovationen?
Um das Thema frugale Innovationen, wie sie in transSUSTAIN erforscht werden, weiter zu vertiefen, knüpft die Ausstellung an die ersten White Paper des Projekts an und überträgt deren Leitgedanken auf historische und aktuelle Beispiele aus der Medizintechnik.
Diese Ausstellung ist eine Initiative des Forschungs- und Transferprojekts transSCAPE. Sie widmet sich dem Wissenstransfer zwischen verschiedenen Akteur:innen und schafft einen Raum, in dem Innovation, Experimentieren und interdisziplinärer Austausch im Mittelpunkt stehen.

Many of the historical devices demonstrate an impressive focus on essentials: simple repairability, robust construction, locally available materials, and intuitive usability. These principles closely reflect the frugal innovation approaches that the research and transfer project transSUSTAIN identifies as key to a resource-efficient and future-proof healthcare system – particularly for rural areas and regions undergoing demographic change.
The exhibition serves as a space for reflection and invites visitors to consider a central question: What impulses can be drawn from this development trajectory – from DDR medical technology to the 3ios project and onward to the Researchcampus STIMULATE – for future frugal MedTech innovations?
To further deepen the theme of frugal innovation as explored within the research and transfer project transSUSTAIN, the exhibition builds on the project’s first white papers and translates their core principles into historical and contemporary examples of medical technology. This exhibition is an initiative of the transSCAPE workshop. It is dedicated to transferring knowledge between different actors and creating a space where innovation, experimentation, and interdisciplinary exchange take center stage.
